Illy Bogart's unique musical voice draws from a wide variety of music influences, from classic jazz to modern funk and hip hop. About the band:
Tony Peebles is a busy tenor saxophonist and teacher, currently residing in Oakland, California. A founding member of the Pacific Mambo Orchestra, he performed on every track of its 2014 Grammy Award-winning (Best Tropical Latin Album) debut album, including a solo on "Muevete Con Prisa".
He holds a BA in Music Theory from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MM in Jazz Saxophone Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In addition to his performing career, Tony has taught the popular Jazz: Style and History course at the University of Pennsylvania, a wide variety of music enrichment programs at the elementary and high school levels, as well as private saxophone and improvisation lessons for students of all ages.
Lyle Link Saxophonist and flautist Lyle Link is a versatile musician and sought-after sideman; he performs in many musical styles- from jazz, blues and R&B to latin and world beat. He has performed with pop icons Patti Labelle, James Ingram, Isaac Hayes, Aretha Franklin, and jammed with Prince. He has shared his musical gifts in festivals and concerts in Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Europe, South America and throughout North America. He has also performed with the Smithsonian Masterworks Jazz Orchestra, the Richmond Symphony and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In addition to working as a first call sideman, he also leads his group, the Lyle Link Quartet. As a music educator, Lyle teaches at Sheridan School and the Levine School of Music.
Ian McArdle, a keyboardist and pianist from Oakland, California, is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He studied with Dan Wall, Susan Muscarella, Billy Hart, and Jamey Haddad. Ian received the Oberlin Conservatory of Music Dean’s Scholarship and awards for Outstanding Musicianship from the Campana Jazz Festival, CSU East Bay Jazz Festival and the Sacramento State University Winter Jazz Festival. He has performed at Yoshi’s, Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival, Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, as well as jazz venues in Italy and France. In 2013 Ian toured China with the Chase Jackson Quintet.
Isaac Schwartz, a Bay Area native, has been playing drums for nearly 20 years. He is a top call drummer and has performed at Yoshi’s, The Independent, The Sound Room, as well as toured the country and performed in Europe.
